| There are many issues both local and statewide that I am deeply concerned about. First and foremost, we must restore access to women's health care and abortion access, women's lives depend on it. We must ensure equal protection for ALL North Carolinians, sensible gun ownership requirements, and expand voter rights rather than limit them. In my local district we are grappling with numerous local challenges. We're facing the devastating impacts of climate change, widespread environmental degradation, large-scale clear-cutting of forests, unchecked overdevelopment, and serious infrastructure shortfalls. Our community is also suffering from toxic PFAS and GenX contamination, which is contributing to a growing cancer cluster. Meanwhile, our schools are severely underfunded as public tax dollars are being funneled into private education. These are complex issues that will require collaboration between state legislators and county/city government. The GOP stronghold has been working for developers and corporations. Their campaign contribution records demonstrate that they are on the payroll of the very people and organizations that are destroying our communities. I am committed to working for the people and will stand up to these greedy and self serving groups. I see a better, safer, and more equitable North Carolina and I am ready to fight for those ideals. |
